Who Has The Money?

Bill

I ran across these 2 graphs while researching what's happen to total wealth in the US since the beginning of the Great Recession.

One the one hand, there seems to be plenty of money around;

On the other, average Americans seem to be poorer., or at least the rate at which they're getting richer has slowed dramatically.

For some groups, especially minorities, the decline has been dramatic.

While I remain skeptical that this reverse redistribution of wealth is entirely a function of federal tax policy, or that returning to Clinotn era marginal tax rates would reverse it, the trend itself feels quite alarming. I know you'll have an opinion about this, and I look forward to reading it.
