Since 2005, the fraction of imported fossil fuel energy has declined relentlessly.
The reasons behind this good news appear to be mutlifactorial, and include dramatic increases in US oil and natural gas production as well as more efficient domestic energy use. The trend, initiated by the Bush administration, has continued under the phony energy president. Yes that one, the one who gives his predecessor full credit for the change, and who threw the environmental wing of the Democratic party under the bus last week by approving the distal leg of the Keystone pipeline.
If you want a truly phony presidential moment, let me offer you this one.
