Today's Upshot crystallizes the disconnect between the macroeconomic good news that we keep hearing about and the reality for most Americans. The fantastic headline says it all.

The article highlights a new report from the Census bureau (is there any aspect pf American life the bureau doesn;t teach us something about?) that elucidates just how little the recovery from the Great Recession of 2008 has trickled down to most of our countrymen and women. As the piece points out, per capita GDP and median household income since 1998 have gone in opposite directions. The rich are doing fine; the rest, not so much.
Americans blame the Economist In Chief. I like him, as you know, but I can't blame them for blaming him.
